VASER® ultrasound-assisted liposuction uses a specially designed probe that emits ultrasound waves into the fat layer to selectively emulsify (liquefy) the fat tissue.

Other body tissues like blood vessels and nerves are left intact. A specially designed cannula is then inserted through a small incision to remove the treated fat while preserving other important tissues.

Dr. Giuffrida is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. He is also a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and met the rigorous requirements needed to join this prestigious organization. Dr. Giuffrida earned his medical degree from Tufts Medical School in 1989 after graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Boston College. He graduated a Scholar of the College from B.C. and was recognized for the finest senior research thesis in his graduating class.

Buckingham Plastic Surgery has been inspected and accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). Certificate of Accreditation from AAAASF provides evidence that our facility meets high standards for patient safety in the outpatient surgical environment. Dr. Giuffrida is on the medical staff at Hunterdon Medical Center and he is the only Plastic Surgeon on Doylestown Hospital medical staff with the following credentials, ASPS, ASAPS, ABPS, and with a AAAASF Certified Operating Suite.

He performed the first autologous breast reconstruction TRAM flap following mastectomy at the Hunterdon Medical Center. This procedure is preferred by some breast cancer patients because it combines a Mastectomy with a Abdominoplasty. He has pioneered advances in the TRAM Flap technique, which allows a patient's own tissue to be used in constructive and reconstructive procedures instead of a foreign implant. Such is Dr. Giuffrida's skill that cosmetic plastic surgery is swift and smooth, and recovery time is reduced.
